A Resonant Breathwork Practice from Elemental Journey
Elemental Spiral Breath
This breathwork practice is a gift from Elemental Journey — a simple yet profound way to reconnect with your inner rhythm. Use it whenever you need grounding, clarity, or calm.
The Breath Cycle
Inhale for a count of 4 through the nose, feel the spiral rising through the spine
Hold for a count of 4 - be aware as your breath expands in your chest
Exhale for a count of 6 through the mouth, moving the spiral outward
Pause for a count of 2 as you rest in stillness
Repeat 6–8 cycles
If it feels right for you add a sound to the exhalation-
such as 'hum', 'mmm' or 'ahh'
As you sound your exhale feel the vibration in your chest and throat
This breath spiral will activate your vagus nerve, stimulating your body’s parasympathetic (rest and digest) pathway lowering your heart rate, calming anxiety, and improving digestion
Closing Ritual
Hands over heart
Silently or quietly affirm: 'I am here. I am whole. I am home.'
Sit in silence for 1–2 minutes
